Swivel locks turn swivel casters in to rigid casters in a snap! Simply pull on the ring, twist, release and you have a rigid caster. Pull it back out, twist again, and release and your caster can swivel freely. This may not sound that important, but if you have ever pushed a cart with four swivel casters, it is. With one or two rigid casters on a cart, the cart becomes much easier to steer. The ideal application for swivel locks is for carts that need to operate both in long runs and in tight spaces. A four swivel caster cart is great for tight spaces, it can turn on a dime, but pushing it down the hall is tough. Put on the swivel lock and it's good to go for the long push.
